After a few weeks of histrionics on both sides of this argument, the England Football Association accepted new media rules, finally removing from their head from the technological sand. Initially with the idea that media outlets could not twitter or engage the fans through the magic of social media, based on an agreement made not even 10 years ago, and yet completely outdated. The new rules will allow freedom to engage readers, with only a short delay for live match reports. Nobody ever though this was going to go on forever, but we’re glad they cleaned up their guidelines. Now, we’ll see how technology will change things in two years time.

Are you sure you wanted to use the word “sand” there?
