Tuesday Backpasses: Beer FC

Taste The Rainbow

That Champions League competition was back this evening, and the best matches of the day were in the lower leagues of England. Spectator’s Exeter City took another loss, Torquay United ground out a tough 3 points away to Aldershot Town, and Southampton almost let an impressive 3-0 lead get away before turning on the charm to humble Ipswich Town at Portman Road.

Who needs that Oxlade-Chamberlain chap, eh?

What’s that you say–where’s the guff on Arsenal & their CL match? Truth telling time: didn’t watch a minute of it. I try not to watch them if I can avoid it and usually limit my Gooner exposure to twice a season. And instead of talking about them–I’m assuming players were injured, Rosicky was not used to playing extended minutes and melted around the 75th minute, and Gervinho choked a bitch–what about Plzen FC besting Copenhagen away!

Seriously, this is the club you should all be rooting for to progress into the groups & go far. From a twittering today I learned this is the Czech side’s first trip into the Champions League and have been coming along slowly to dominate the Gambrinus Liga. Okay, but why should you support this club?

Plzen is another spelling for Pilsen, as in beer. This is the club that represents the city that is the worldwide home of BEER! You would be supporting FC Beer. Get in.

Have you been naughty or nice? Either way, here’s a preview of the new FM 2012. [Soccerlens]

Tweakage on the MLS DP rule. Meh. [SBI]

Don’t shake their hands. You just know they didn’t wash them after going to the bathroom. [Dirty Tackle]

And finally, speaking of those with filth all over their hands, some other group tells FIFA to do what we already know it’s not even going to come close to doing. [WSJ]

Dirty, dirty, Arsenal. Bottom of the discipline table too. Tsk tsk.

  2. I fully expect Liverpool to be down there this season too.

And you Spurs fans were worried you weren’t going to get a striker.

I would be totally happy with Adebayor. Arry managed to get Gallas to stop acting like a twat, surely he can do the same for Ade.
