Wednesday Backpasses: Strictly Business

One of Those Days

Ever have one of those days where the office just kicks your soul? Yeah, that was my day on Wednesday, so I’ve got little time for pleasantries.

Here they are, and there’s a fair number, considering today was a bit of a busy news day in the world of footy. There are tons more I’d link as well, but assume most of you lot could care less.

Alright, fine, at least this one because it’s quality stuff–The Swiss Ramble’s latest on Mad Vlad & Heart of Midlothian.

Jürgen’s numbers game when it comes to the Klinsmannschaft. [WSC]

Glad I didn’t post that link last night about EJ coming to MLS. [MFUSA]

But Boca Boca 3 is heading to Glasgow. Rangermerica? [SkySports]

I guess next Spurs will be going for Joey Barton & bring Vinnie Jones out of retirement then, since ‘Arry loves baggage. [Daily Fail]

Do either LA or Seattle have a chance to become the first? [NYT Goal]

Oozing with cheesy nacho goodness, this one. [Dirty Tackle]

Oh, and Ireland sends its love on your birthday Titi. [Offside]

And finally, an excuse to break out the ascots. I’m torn between this being fairly cool or a bit creepy. [Guardian]

Speaking of business, the average revenue of an MLS team, in total, in 2010 was $15 million. The average payroll of an MLS team, according to the most recent published player salary list, is $4 million.
Seriously will continue make the argument clubs can own the players now in MLS. Also will continue to make the argument that there should be a sliding salary cap based on your revenue. Freedom for MLS clubs!!

  3. There’s more than just player costs especially for teams that are paying for stadia and/or expansion fees.

anybody see mou’s sneaky pinch attack during the supercopa
    barcelona winning is his hell

on another note, fabs plays like 10 minutes and he already has a trophy and also takes a tackle that would have sidelined him for 94 months in london, but not in barcelona.
    i find this hilarious(ly depressing)
