Sunday Bootroom: Riding Out Irene

Many of us are living on the eastern seaboard, and we’re all riding out Hurricane Irene in one way or another. It could be that some of the UF staff have decided to hole up in a downtown hotel where the room service is respectable, and they will serve drinks late into the night.

Meanwhile, we must awaken as there are Tactics! to ponder, and matches to watch. The Match of the Day will be the Manchester United-Arsenal match, where we can see first hand the carnage that is the Arsenal season.

Some would argue (*cough* Likely Lad *cough*) that the Spurs-Man City clash is more important, but only in deciding which overpaid mercenary will score the winning goal.

You up all night checking your property and need a way to sleep? Check out the Newcastle Fulhamn match at 8am, guarantee you will be snoozing by the 30 minute mark. Of course the Stoke West Brom match will be interesting, in a sort of mid-table sort of way.

Until 11am, keep your heads down.

(all times eastern)
8:00 Newcastle – Fulham
8:30 Tottenham – Manchester City
10:00 West Brom – Stoke
11:00 Manchester United – Arsenl

Does this mean Seattle’s slightly better than Arsenal since they only conceded 7?

Also: Hey Brian! We won a game in August!
Clearly, Everton’s going to the Champions League now.

  3. @Brian, Wacman: I’m not going to pile on this week. My point is made. If others want to talk about Arsenal, then I can’t stop that. :-)
@LE: Maybe. But it’s going to be a hell of a race.

  4. @TSE, have me do an appearance and we can talk to your heart’s content about the game

@WNF, I feel like the last time won in August was 2004

I moved yesterday (yes, in the middle of the hurricane) and missed the game, but I had to check the score in about 8 different places because I was sure it was typo. Dear god.
