It’s the final day of this most dreary of Interlulls. Even if we don’t get EPL action back until Saturday, players will be returning to their clubs following today’s matches.
Many of the Euro 2012 qualifiers are already underway or completed. Check results/live scores here while I inform you that Germany defeated Belgium 3-1, the Eyetalians are beating Northern Ireland 2-0, Les Bleus are losing to Bosnia 1-0, and Spain is dispatching Scotland, 3-1. Also of interest, Denmark just scored a winner over Portugal. For shame, Ronaldo.
There’s also South American qualifying (Bolivia v. Colombia underway now), but I imagine most of the comments in this bootroom will be related to tonight’s clash between the USMNT and Ecuador at Red Bull Arena in beautifully scenic, totally-not-a-post-industrial-wasteland Harrison, NJ.
USA has a 2-4-4 record against La Tri. That’s not great, but the last two matches have been wins for the US. Improvement! Klinsy wants to keep the momentum from Saturday’s win over Honduras going, and you can bet the players will be motivated, as this is a homecoming of sorts for Jozy, Bradley the Younger, and Timmay. Agudelo and Ream will also feel at home here.
