No, I don’t know if Jack Warner farted in the bathtub, but we do know that Jack Warner promised to unleash a tsunami on FIFA after his troubles earlier this year and that tsunami has not hit the shores yet. Yesterday may have marked the first ripple signifying an incoming tsunami when he said that in exchange for helping Sepp Blatter win FIFA elections Warner received World Cup broadcasting rights for nominal fees.
Warner claims he received the Caribbean broadcast rights for the 1998, 2002, 2006, 2010 and 2014 World Cups for his support of Blatter. Sometimes the acquisition cost as little as $1. Warner then, allegedly, sold the rights on to benefit the Caribbean Football Union. Although, it seems that those monies could have easily flowed to the CFU without Jack Warner as the middleman if that is what FIFA wanted to do.
We can only hope that Warner continues to feel sleighted by FIFA and releases more information like this.
